All bike fits are carried out from our shop in Freemans Bay, Auckland.

Details of our bike fitting services follow. If you have any questions please do contact us.

Standard Silicon Coach Bike Fit

• $149
• Approximately 1.5 to 2 hours

Using Silicon Coach Dialed in Motion fit cycling technology, Bikelab can provide you with a comprehensive, interactive bike fit experience.

Silicon Coach uses video to:
• record your cycling movement
• freeze frames to allow accurate analyse your position on the bike, and
• determine precise measurements to improve your comfort and energy-efficiency on the bike.

After all, when you're cycling you're in a dynamic, moving state, so it's important not to limit your analysis and bike fit to a static position.

The Standard BikeLab bike fit includes:
• review of your cleat alignment and shoe support
• knee alignment and review of your movement when pedalling
• determining the optimal seat position to suit your riding style
• improving your handlebar set up to get the right balance of comfort and performance
• a full report, complete with freeze frame photos, for your future reference.

BikeLab will also keep your records on file for future reference and comparison.

Important notes:
• Bookings are essential.
• Bring your bike, cycling shorts, shoes and socks.

Competitive Cyclist Silicon Coach Bike Fit

• $199
• Allow 2 hours

If you're a competitive cyclist, comfort and energy-efficiency is just part of the equation. You're also looking to achieve an aerodynamic position and understand muscle loading and where you can improve your flexibility to boost your performance.

BikeLab's Competitive Cyclist bike fit offers everything outlined in the Standard bike fit plus analysis of your body position under stress at your Functional Threshold Power (FTP) output.

The analysis will involve taking a video capture of you riding at your FTP for an extended period, looking at how stress affects the relationship between the bike, your flexibility and your aerodynamics.

The Competitive Cyclist BikeLab bike fit includes:
• review of your cleat alignment and support from your shoes
• knee alignment and review of your movement when pedalling
• determining the optimal seat position to suit your functional threshold power and flexibility
• improving your handlebar set up to get the right balance of comfort and performance
• a full report, complete with freeze frame photos, for your future reference.
• advice on stretches to help improve your cycling flexibility.

If your FTP is not known then we an extra 30 minutes is required to calculate it. Alternatively we can use your average heart rate from a race within the last month.
BikeLab will also keep your records on file for future reference and comparison.

Important notes:
• Bookings are essential.
• Bring your bike, cycling shorts, shoes and socks.

Foot bed / Innersole Fitting

• $129.99 including innersoles
• Approximately 25 minutes

One of the key, often overlooked aspects of bike fit is the point where your foot connects to the shoe/pedal. So, an appropriately fitting insole is an important part of bike fit.

Most cycling shoes have a flat sole, despite the fact that most of us don't have flat feet. By customising your innersole BikeLab can create a positive, stable platform for your legs and pedal strike, increasing comfort and improving energy-efficiency.

We use special Fi'zi:k 3D Flex innersoles which are heated and molded to a supportive, customised shape for your foot based on your weight distribution on the insole when in riding position.

The Fi'zi:k insert is covered with low rebound foam, for comfort and impact absorption. The metatarsal pad (ball of your foot) has a 4mm thick pad of foam to provide additional cushioning and help alleviate hot spots. There is a fibreglass plate made of polyester resin, EVA, and wheat middlings mid-sole. Finally, the heel cup is made of a woven fibreglass material designed to mold and provide a rigid support structure to help to align the body and foot.

Fi'zi:k insoles work well with all cycling shoes, not just their own.

• Bookings are recommended, but not essential depending on how busy the shop is at the time.
• Bring your cycling shoes, riding socks and any orthotics.
